Margaret worked for Constellation Europe for 24 years. She was made redundant last April when the factory moved to Avonmouth.

Tina, our IAG worker saw Margaret several times to offer support with job search and careers advice. She was then referred to the Work Focused Training course in the Job Shop and Online Job Search.

Margaret has been a volunteer at Hartcliffe Community Farm for the past 27 years. Having applied for a part time position at the farm, we are delighted to learn that Margaret has now been given a permanent job with the Community Farm.

We wish Margaret very best wishes for the future.

IT & BEST Presentation Evening

"Brennan is our first candidate from the Job Shop to get a full time job! He had been working with Tina Carroll (IAG Advisor) for sometime and came to the Job Shop about three weeks ago. Brennan sent off lots of job applications and eventually had an interview with Tool Station as a Trade Counter Supervisor. He started work Monday 16th November. We wish him very best wishes for the future".

Breaking News...a new Job Shop is opening on Monday 21st September. It will be open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings 9.30-12.30 at the Gatehouse Centre.

HWV successfully achieves further three years Matrix accreditation!

In July 2006 HWV achieved accreditation against the Matrix Standard for information advice and guidance services provided to external clients. The award must be reviewed within a three year period and in July 2009, following a three day assessment process, HWV was again successful in demonstrating that the organisation continues to meet the Matrix Standard. This means that HWV is now Matrix Standard accredited until July 2012.

Matrix Standard is a recognised quality standard for Information advice and guidance.

The BEAT Bus was at the recent event @ Symes South Bristol's Got Talent. The Bus was offering information and advice for training and job vacancies. Everyone was offered the opportunity to take part in a FREE prize draw to win a £50.00 voucher for Morrisons. The lucky winner was Tara who is a resident in South Bristol.
