Starting throughout the year HWV offers a range of courses to suit your needs in a friendly environment with helpful tutors.

We will look at your current skills and help guide you towards the most suitable course.

All I.T. courses are FREE for the unemployed!

Sessions

  • Mornings (9:30am to 12:30pm)

  • Afternoons (1:45pm to 4:45pm)

  • Evenings (5:30pm to 8:30pm)

Starter Qualifications

Digital Skills

I.C.T. Functional Skills

Gentle introduction courses, learning as a group step by step together.

Nationally recognized qualifications.

Available from Entry 1 to Entry 3 depending on confidence and experience.

Covering using the internet, sending and receiving e-mails, creating simple documents, using images.
A progression from I.C.T. Functional Skills or for those with a little more experience on a computer.

Entry 3 level qualification awarded by the British Computer Society (BCS))

Learn online using interactive web pages with sound and video at home or with support from a tutor in our centre.

Covers a wide range of I.C.T. skills such as using the internet, some Office based skills, computer safety, using Windows and more...

Higher Level

This is the range of courses that focus more on Office based skills, that are more useful in the workplace or small business.

All these qualifications are delivered with well prepared written resources but still supported by a tutor.

C.L.A.I.T.

OCR Entry To I.C.T.


Level 1

Optional units include; sending and receiving e-mails, using computers to find information, word processing, file management, spreadsheets, database, presentation graphics, desktop publishing.


Entry 3 Level

Optional units include; sending and receiving e-mails, using computers to find information, producing simple documents and producing charts and graphs.


E.C.D.L.


Level 2

Optional units include; sending and receiving e-mails, using computers to find information, word processing, file management, spreadsheets, database, presentation graphics.


E.C.D.L. is the European standard for the industry.

We also run sessions for "silver surfers" or Leisure Learners.  If you are over 65 and want to improve your computer skills in a friendly environment, with like-minded people, contact us.
